Los Leones Canyon

Hiking on weekends is one of my favorite activities. Getting up early to exercise and enjoy some nature makes me feel like I'm starting the weekend right. All too often I get up on a Saturday or Sunday and spend the rest of the day lazying around in bed.

I found this trail on Yelp and it is definitely my favorite hike in Los Angeles. The trail is an uphill climb for 3.1 miles and as you start to get to the top, you see the most wonderful views of the ocean and the city. The hike was fairly strenuous as it was pretty steep getting closer to the top but it was a great workout. The only downside is that no dogs are allowed as the trail is pretty narrow in the beginning. The trailhead is very easily accessible from Sunset Blvd. and the PCH, there is ample parking.
